Caterpillar

This creature is one of the animals that are often talked about and most people do not like it, this is because of the shape that makes people amused. Although all caterpillars are not like that, but especially in caterpillars found in other creatures. Caterpillars are the larval stage of the species in the order Lepidoptera, which will later become butterflies and moths. They are mostly plant eaters even though some species are insectivores. But most caterpillars are considered pests in agriculture. Many species of moths are known because the caterpillar stage causes damage to fruit and other agricultural products. In addition to the caterpillar perceived as the enemy of the farmers, he was also considered to be disturbing to the environment around human habitation. 

However, if we examine further, it turns out that most caterpillars have long bodies and are gilig-shaped (cylindrical). Caterpillars have three pairs of true limbs in three chest segments, plus four pairs of pseudo limbs called the abdomen in the middle segment of the abdomen and often a pair of abdominal limbs in the last abdominal segment. Caterpillars have ten abdominal segments. As you see in the picture.  Most of these animals consume leaves (herbivores) and insects. Furry animals that make our bodies itch when touching them are animals that are classified as greedy animals. In the opinion of these animal experts or seen from the etymology of the caterpillar originating in the early 16th century or the past, the names of caterpillars are taken from ancient French, namely catepelose which means cat (cattus: Latin) and pelose means "Fur " So if the combination becomes "Silkworm". But people certainly knew him because of the characteristics of his body overgrown with fur all over his body.  Then he also has another name which means the caterpillar's name is not just that, the animals that are attacking many parts of Indonesia have other names referred to as geometrids or inchworms. The name was given to caterpillars because of their behavior as if they were moving to measure the earth. This caterpillar has a soft and real body that makes us itchy when touching it can grow quite quickly. But if the body is exposed to lamp oil, the hair on the body will fall out. So some people anticipate their presence with kerosene or others. So hopefully it is useful.
