1. **_Exodus 20:1-17_** and 2. _**Deuteronomy 5:6-21**_ I will be taking all my scriptures from Deuteronomy 5:6-21. Let read the scripture together ; The Ten Commandments >[Deu 5:6-21] ISV : I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt from the house of slavery. [Vs 7] : You are to have no other gods besides me [Vs 8] : You are not to make for yourselves a carved image resembling any form in the heavens above, on earth below, or in the waters under the earth. [Vs 9] : You are not to bow down to them in worship or serve them, because I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the iniquity of their parents to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me, [Vs 11] : You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, because the LORD will not leave the one who misues his name unpunished. [Vs 12] : You are to keep the Sabbath day holy, just as the LORD your God commanded. [Vs 16] : You are to honor your father and your mother, just as the LORD your God commanded you, so that your life will be long and things will go well for you in the land that the LORD your God is giving you. [Vs 17] : You are not to murder. [Vs 18] : You are not to commit adultery. [Vs 19] : You are not to steal. [Vs 20] : You are not to testify falsely against your neighbor. [Vs 21] : You are not to desire your neighbor’s wife nor covet your neighbor’s house, his fields, his male and female servants, his ox, his donkey, nor anything that concerns your neighbor.’”
What do learn from the scriptures above?
**The answer is LOVE.** That is 1. Love for God and 2. Love for our fellow mankind The Word of God clearly tells us that love is the fulfillment of the law. >[Romans 13:8] KJV : Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. >[Romans 13:10] KJV : Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. and >[Galatians 5:14]KJV: For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The above scriptures makes us to understand that if we have the spirit of love in us eventually it is the will or command of God we are obeying. In fact the law is there to make us know the difference between good and bad. That is why the Word of God tells us that "we are saved by grace and not by the working of the law" >[Galatians 2:16] KJV : Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. What then, am I saying? All I mean is, if you love God, for the first four commandments mentioned above you will never break any of them. Same goes with the last six, if you have love for your fellow human being you will not break any of those commandments. To be able to obey the laws of God depends on your love for God and your fellow man. So let make love to lead us in every thing we do, and we will see the hands of God in our lives.
