As a player, if you are still under a club contract, they have the right to play you, bench you, loan you out or not even using you at all until the contract that you signed with the would be over but it still depend on the coach that you work under, if the coach you play under him have interest in you, either you are good or not, you'll surely play but if he didn't have interest in you, your agent should find another club where you can show what you've got as a player and proof the coach wrong with your skills. I am even sure the club would release you because they won't want to keep spending salaries that you didn't work for on you.

If a player is on loan, the club that loaned him out still have say on him, they can call him back after the loan deal with the club they loaned him to if there's is no clause that the club that they loaned him to can buy him if they have interest in him. Even if they have interest in him, the club that loaned him out still have the say to sell him or not if they think he would be useful for them. This loan contact entails so much, some club would buy a player and loan him out for him to learn more before they call him back to come and play for them.

Some clubs would loan their players out so as to gain more experience if they think his experience is not enough but some club loan their prayer out so the player won't just be on the bench, paying him without playing and it still depend on the coach that is working on the club. When Real Madrid bought Vinicius Junior, they didn't bring them to Spain instantly, they first left him in Brazil in order to learn more, make his play way mature before bringing him to Spain and now he's one of their best players and first eleven, he did wonderful work for Real Madrid, even more than Eden Hazard that they bought with huge amount of money.

But if a player is loaned out and he has choose to stay where he was loaned to, the best thing the club that loaned him out need to do is just name their price if the club they loaned him to is ready to pay because his mind is already there, if the club that loaned him out force him to come back, he may come and play rubbish for them which may not pay them. Some players still wish to play in the club that loaned them out, they still have their love in their heart and it still depend on the coach that is managing the club, if he want him to come back or sell him there.
