Mason Mount didn't sign the new contract that Chelsea offered to him, they offered him 200 thousand pounds weekly but he said he would collect 3,000 thousand pounds from 80,000 pounds because Reece James that they were both teammates and young has been given 250,000 pounds, Raheem Sterling that they bought from Manchester City is collecting 300,000 pounds and they are offering him 200,000 pounds. To me, it's just an offer because he didn't tell Chelsea how much he would be collecting and of course Chelsea won't first come with 300,000 pounds contract offer even if they are the richest club in the whole world but now that he has let then know what he want, the board of directors would surely meet on that and make decision.
But what u see as the problem is that he's playing at the World Cup presently and he know that chance can bring him huge offer because he plays well and if Chelsea isn't ready to give him the amount that he want but did he really justify the amount of money that he demanded because he can't compare himself with Raheem Sterling didn't grow at Chelsea, he was bought from Manchester City and it's work he did at Manchester City that make Chelsea give him 300,000 pounds and Sterling is one of the highest goal scorer in Chelsea presently, so he should make the negotiation with Chelsea, he shouldn't talk of Raheem Sterling.
To me, Mason Mount never play more than 200,000 pounds, they may give him 300,000 pounds and start playing rubbish and injury may set up. It is when Chelsea need Reece James most he was injured and Chelsea keep loosing until the World Cup break come up till extend that he couldn't play at the World Cup and that is a serious pain for him but the weekly due would keep going, it won't stop but if Chelsea haven't increase his salary, they might not loose in two ways; salary payment and loosing important matches that could help them qualify for the champions League next season, the only hope that they have now is December and January transfer market that would open by January.
But if Chelsea didn't give him 300,000 pounds and he perform so well in Champions League, another big club that can give him more than that may come and it may be too late for Chelsea to make him stay
