Do we really need the government for crypto projects and the space to succeed?

I would say "No" for crypto projects 100 percent but for crypto companies and exchanges, the answer is still "No" with a little torch of "Yes or Maybe" and here is why, in my country, Nigeria the government placed a ban on crypto and all crypto-related activities because in our greedy leaders and government minds, Bitcoin and Crypto is the reason for Nigeria's poor or bad economy and not themselves, who are the real problems and cause of poverty, bad economy, and hardship in the country.

How can a developing country's politician earn more than the United States President based on the news articles I have read? It is even said that Nigerian politicians earn more than any other country's politicians in the world with our bad economy and currency that its value and buying power keep diminishing every day you wake up, especially against the Dollar, Pound, and Euro.

That being said, I mentioned that earlier Crypto companies and exchanges might have needed the government for them to succeed in a particular country, take my country for example since the government banned Crypto, a lot of crypto companies and exchanges no longer want to establish their companies in Nigeria anymore, they rather go elsewhere because of the unfavorable condition the government give to their businesses and trust me no business man or woman would want to be losing instead of gaining, expanding and developing from their businesses.

For the companies who choose to stay, the government's unfavorable conditions have either collapsed the business and closed down with user's money and life savings due to the crypto ban, in fact, 90% of them have shut down already. So in this case it is safe to say that those companies needed the government to succeed if they did not want to move their businesses to another country that is favorable.
