THE DEATH AND POWER OF CHRIST
 Romans 8:24

 Romans 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

 This week is called The Passion week or the HOLY week for a reason

 There's something we hope for as a Christian. There's something we see that others can't see.

 This hope is meant to help us , guide us through our journey.

 But do we understand what it entails?

 Trust me today, the holy spirit will open our eyes to see just a tiny bit of what HIS DEATH means for us as christians

 Romans 6:8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,

Romans 6:9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.

Romans 6:10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.

Romans 6:11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

 3 Things Christ Accomplished for us by His Death

 1) Redemption

 Our sins had put us in captivity from which we need to be delivered. The price that is paid to deliver someone from captivity is called a “ransom.” To say that Christ’s death accomplished redemption for us means that it accomplished deliverance from our captivity through the payment of a price.

 There are three things we had to be released from: the curse of the law, the guilt of sin, and the power of sin. Christ redeemed us from each of these.

 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law:

 “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us” (Galatians 3:13-14).

Christ redeemed us from the guilt of our sin. We are

“justified as a gift by his grace, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:24).

Christ redeemed us from the power of sin: “knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold

 2) Propitiation

 propitiation refers to the removal of God’s wrath.

 By dying in our place for our sins, Christ removed the wrath of God that we justly deserved. In fact, it goes even further: a propitiation is not simply a sacrifice that removes wrath, but a sacrifice that removes wrath and turns it into favor.

 Defeated of the Powers of Darkness

 Christ’s death was a defeat of the power of Satan.

“He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him” (Colossians 3:15).

Satan’s only weapon that can ultimately hurt people is unforgiven sin.

 Christ took this weapon away from him for all who would believe, defeating him and all the powers of darkness in his death by, as the verse right before this says,

 “having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross” (Colossians 2:13-14).

 
3) Reconciliation

 There is a removal of our sins, and propitiation refers to the removal of God’s wrath, reconciliation refers to the removal of our alienation from God.

 His death gave us Access that ordinary we would not have had

 Remember the the veil was thorn into two giving us Access to hidden places in Christ

 Because of our sins, we were alienated — separated — from God. Christ’s death removed this alienation and thus reconciled us to God.

We see this, for example, in

Romans 5:10-11: “For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.”

 And he Did All of This By Dying As Our Substitute🙌

 Glory to Jesus

 He died as our substitute

 You and e should not forget that

 He has paved way for you

 He has forgiven your debts

 He has reconciled you with your maker

 There's no veil anymore

 There's no reason no stance for condemnation

 Henceforth tell yourself...I am a conqueror 💪🏻

 Infact more than conquerors

And it is through the blood of Jesus we have that victory
