MY UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE AS A FATHER

Hello serians,

Been a caring and responsible father at a time of scarcity and hardship in the country is a huge task and I congratulate every father doing their possible best to see that their family are doing very well.

I also tell parents that little children aren't aware that there's hardship in the country all what they always demand is food and when there's no food trouble come. 

I left home around 4:10pm in search for teething medicine for my daughter which was prescribed to be effective, but asking all the pharmacy in my area but non have the drug. I place a call to a sister who work in a big popular pharmacy in my state to ask if they have and she told me she just left the office but told me to give her few minutes to put a call through and after minutes she call back telling me they are not having that drug.

I ask her, where else possible can I get, so she mention a few pharmacy that are well known in the state and which by probability they might have it. I took a ride down and the first pharmacy was zamzam it's a large and well known pharmacy. I guess any drug you can't find there it will be difficult to get it anywhere again. 


I greeted the young lady at the front desk and told her I need piccan, yes that's the name of the drug. She told me they are having filled with excitement that at last I can finally get the medicine for my daughter. She came back to tell me that the drug has finish.

I couldn't believe my eyes, I was like few minutes you were telling me it was available. I call the sister friend again to relate tue matter to her. She told me about another pharmacy but this time the pharmacy she mention has been in existence for more than ten (10) years. I believe they would have such drug.

I started trekking down to the pharmacy. I could not take a bike because I only have little money with me that will be enough to transport me back home. I could not withdraw cash since they cashless policy and naira crunch has made cash scarce to get.

As I walk through I began to check to see the name of the store. I saw lots of other pharmacy but I was only searching for the one that was mentioned to me. I couldn't locate the store because it been a while I visited the store. I stop a guys to ask and he was confused as me, saying he knows the pharmacy is around here but can't say if I have pass it or still at the front.

I walk straight up until I saw a Mallam selling suya so I ask him, he was the one that pointed to me that I am close to the store.

I walk few Miles and finally arrived at my destination. I enter greeted the guy's who were busy gisting at that time. I ask did you have piccan and one of those guys told me did that particular drug still exist asking his second attendant and that one reply maybe in Abuja or Lagos.


I breath deep down to see that this is another failed attempt. I wasn't worry about the walking but what keep me worry is the fact that my baby needs it urgently. She has been running temperature and unnecessary crying lately and all was as a result of the teething that's about to come.

Most elderly people were telling us that if it was to be in the village, that there are herb's that they would have cook and give her drink and bath her that she would not even experience it. It will be surprising to us when she will start bringing out teeth.

Now we aren't in village we live in the city. I have contact few people who promise to get us herb's but coming down to my place no money to pay driver that would transport them. I called the sister friend again to inform her.

She told me that that's how the drug is usually scarce and anytime it's available in their pharmacy that people usually rush it. She prescribed other teething drugs but I told her that Piccan was what I need.

She told me to be checking through the line down to the nearest junction. The last location where I ask about the drug, there are lots of pharmacy store in that line.

As I walk, I fix my eyes to read through if am to see any other pharmacy. Luckily I found one pharmacy called *Lifecare Pharmacy**. Seeing that name sounds like a optical store From my personal thinking but on a second thought the word pharmacy ring a bell that let me go in and ask.

I open the door, greeted the lady and ask do you have **Piccan** and she said yes. I look confused. I was like, that was how I was deceived in Zamzam store . I ask her to go bring it.

She came back with the drug. For me I don't know the drug and I haven't seen it before, I was only told to go get it for her. I called the sister friend and ask her by way of describing everything from the colors to the writing on it because from my research I have been told it's of two type.

Finally she told me that's the drug I have been looking for. I know the drug was expensive and that was one of the reasons I haven't gotten the drug for her at the early stage which cost around ($30). When I ask the lady the price she told me it cost ($45) I was looking more confused not knowing what else to do.

I relate it to the sister friend and she told me it's expensive and if their store was having it won't be up to that price but she advised to get it that seeing it elsewhere is not sure. I quickly pick out my ATM and pay for the drug.


After everything I went back home to give her the drug. Even since the green pop has stopped and the temperature has returned back to normal.

After few hours, I sat I think that money in most time is good for someone to have to put an end to shame and to have good health. If I haven't seen able to gather up the fund to get the drug the struggle would have continue which was no longer bearable at the moment in the family.

No matter anything in life, get money so as to put an end to some certain little shame. That's one of the reasons I hustle so as to provide for my family. May God bless my hustle in life.
