Tottenham are now getting the results after underwhelming performances before now. The Conte effect is getting into the team and the results are proof of what's happening behind the scene. Tottenham hosted Crystal Palace and Zaha made it difficult for Patrick Viera after he was sent off for a silly challenge to give Tottenham even more dominance in the match. Harry Kane, Lucas Moura and Son finished the job for Tottenham as they won their Boxing Day fixture.
Crystal Palace had the first real chance after the ball fell to Edouard but he blasted his shot over the bar, far and not handsome. Son on the other end had a brilliant effort saved by the goalkeeper after he tried to pick the bottom left corner of the post but the goalkeeper managed to keep it out to force a corner kick instead. Lucas Moura also had a chance to give Tottenham the lead after he flashed his header off the target right inside the box. He was unlucky to miss such a golden chance. It wasn't long after, Zaha was booked for his first yellow card of the match after he clumsily clipped Sanchez at the back of his heels.
Tottenham finally got the result for their effort in the 32nd minute after Lucas Moura perfectly picked out Harry Kane who only had to apply a finish and he did so emphatically, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance of saving it. Tottenham didn't stop there and 2 minutes after, Lucas Moura got on the end of a cross from Emerson Royal and this time around he directed his header well as he found the back of the net. It was the determination to get on the end of the cross that stood out as Lucas bundled the ball in.
Crystal Palace suffered 2 goals within 2 minutes and the frustration was evident on the team and particularly more on Zaha who lost his head after he raised his arm to push away Sanchez. The first foul was against Sanchez and now, he got a second yellow card which turned to a red card against the same player. Zaha allowed the pressure to get to him and he lost his cool as the game moved away from them.
Tottenham finally put the game to a conclusion with another lovely effort from Lucas Moura after his delivery into the box was guided into the back of the net in the 73rd minute despite being from a tight angle. Tottenham Hotspur deserved the win and Conte would be happy with the performance of his trio up front.
