If I was the author of my existence

I would mould myself

to suit my taste

If I wrote my future

All would be different

From the way I was raised

To the place I was raised at

If I wrote my future

I will choose the people I meet

From friends to family

I would be able to discern the good from the evil

If I wrote my future

I would make happiness an everyday affair

I would swim in unending joy

If I wrote my future

I would have nothing but peace

And save myself from sorrow

And cherish the things I want

If I wrote my future

The ones I love will still be here

But I did not write my future

So all I can do is nothing and stare

As I follow the path laid out by fate

We learn by the things we have suffered

And I believe in all that I have gone through
