Barcelona Back On Track.

After a mixed season for Barcelona which saw their head coach; Koeman sacked, Barcelona picked up the pieces of their season as they were determined to get their Champions League campaign back on track after a challenging moment. They managed to win by a solitary goal against Dynamo Kyiv thanks to a goal from Ansu Fati.

Barcelona has been struggling and it was evident after their humbling at the hands of Bayern Munich and Benfica with 3 goals in each match. Barcelona won against Dynamo Kyiv by a solitary goal at home last month, thanks to Pique's goal and this time around, they won by the same scoreline and thanks to Ansu Fati who delivered the goods away from home.

In the 3rd minute, Ansu Fati and Depay came close to giving their side the lead but it wasn't to be as the defence line stood still before the defender also denied Memphis Depay who is yet to score in the Champions League for Barcelona.

In the 25th minute, Kyiv had a freekick on the side of the pitch and the ball managed to get to Carlos de Pena whose shot was blocked off by the foot of Marc-André ter Stegen. Just 3 minutes after, Kyiv almost got their goal after a brilliant move was orchestrated by Viktor Tsyhankov. Mykola Shaparenko was eventually found with a slide pass inside the box and his effort was only good enough to find the side of the net.

In the 31st minute, Depay delivered a freekick into the box which was met with the brilliant effort by Lenglet but his header was prevented from going in by the post. Had it gone in, it would have been subject to a VAR check. Goals weren't forthcoming for Barcelona and they had another goalmouth scramble in the 42nd minute and the ball just wouldn't go in after a lovely header from Gonzalez.

Zenit almost went ahead too in the 58th minute when Oleksandr Karavayev initiated a brilliant attack on the left-hand side but it wasn't meant to be. The ball fell graciously to him again at the edge of the box but his curling effort missed the target.

In the 62nd minute, the referee pointed to the spot after Ansu Fati clutched his ankle from a challenge inside the box. After the VAR check, the referee overturned his initial decision and gave Barcelona no penalty. Fati made sure Barcelona got the win and he delivered spectacularly when Óscar Mingueza's low delivery into the box managed to find him and he smashed home his effort which found the back of the net spectacularly. It was a one time volley and what a strike it was.

Serhiy Sydorchuk and Viktor Tsyhankov both had wonderful chances to give their side a point but for the expertise of Marc-André ter Stegen who denied Viktor Tsyhankov with a single palm save. Barcelona managed to hold on but it wasn't an easy victory for them but the hard-fought 3 points was enough to lift them to 2nd in the group.
