Maybe because he has known Mark Cucurella from Brighton and Holve Albion that's why he keeps playing him ahead the natural center half but he need to know that Chelsea's style is difference from Brighton and Holve Albion style in the sense that there is no pressure at Brighton and Chelsea want quick result.
