The difference between 'surviving' and 'keeping alive' is subtle yet profound.

'Survival' and 'keeping alive'—the difference between these two is very subtle but profound. One is enjoying life, the other is just counting the days. Many times we don't understand whether we are actually living life or just keeping it alive.

Suppose, you want someone to love you the way you are. You spend your days hoping for that wish, maybe waiting, that it will be fulfilled someday. But in this you are not enjoying life, but rather sustaining yourself. And suppose, you have learned to love yourself, filling your time with joy. That is real survival.

Those who only keep themselves alive, their lives are spent waiting for happiness someday in the future. Time passes, old age comes. Then they regret it, but there is no more chance. But life should not be like this. Keeping alive is actually pulling the strings of life, and living is enjoying life in the true sense.

Life is actually magic. This magic is visible to us when we learn to be positive. For example, if we see the glass half full and think, "This will satisfy my needs," then life becomes beautiful. But if we see the glass half empty and think, "Why not the rest?"—then satisfaction is lost.

Every moment of life is an opportunity. There are many people in the world who have chosen life despite extreme adversity. Some have conquered mountains despite losing their legs, some have rebuilt themselves despite impossible hardships. They have not only survived themselves, but have learned to live.

Do you love yourself? Ask yourself this question. Because, before anyone else can love you, you have to do it yourself. The most beautiful girl in the world, Aishwarya Rai, or the most handsome boy, Leonardo DiCaprio—they have also been heartbroken many times. But they did not stop. They took risks in life, accepted failure as normal. This is real life.

Time is very short in this life. It seems like yesterday you went to school, and today you suddenly see how old you are. In just 100 years, none of us will be left on this earth. So why are you wasting this time just trying to survive?

Instead of regretting, take risks. Do what you want to do. Make mistakes, fail—and still live. Because the real beauty of life lies in living, not in surviving.
