Not a gymnast. Am more a person who plays football and basketball.

But Simone Biles was in a team sport. Team gymnastics.

You need to be at your best in order to compete.

Not many people are good enough to know they aren’t at their best. If you are not at your best, you’re wasting your own time and your team’s time. Simone is good enough to win gold, and also know that she probably won’t make it to gold.

What if she went? And lost? Then you’d say, ‘So much for Olympic gold. It would have been better if she didn’t go at all.’

There’s no individual glory or sponsor dollars in losing. She was a sportsman. It’s only sportsmanlike to do your best and want others to do their best too.

The Olympics isn’t just a world championship. It’s a sportsmanship show. If you have no sportsmanship, please do not comment.

It’s said that Simone suffered a mental block. To illustrate a mental block, imagine diving into water. Not Olympic diving, just normal diving into a pool to swim, or jumping from the high platform. You know you’re supposed to go head first into water, but you don’t know where you’re facing, and you end up going into water horizontally. It would have been better off if you just jumped into the water feet first.

People don’t really understand gymnastics mental blocks because you think gymnastics is just back flipping 10 times on a road. I’ve seen parkour enthusiasts do that. I can’t back flip. If I tried I’d probably break my neck and die.
