Cristiano Ronaldo set to join Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr football club from Jan. 1, 2023

According to reports, Ronaldo will agree to a $217 million, two-and-a-half year deal with the Saudi club.

Cristiano Ronaldo, a Portuguese striker, will join Al Nassr football in Saudi Arabia on January 1, 2023, according to the Jeddah-based Saudi Gazette, which cited Spanish media.

According to the paper's web version, Ronaldo will sign a $217 million, 2-1/2 year contract with the Saudi club.

The football star would, according to the Spanish sports daily newspaper Marca, "before the year is done."

The striker broke his links with Manchester United just a few days before the World Cup in Qatar, giving him the freedom to negotiate with any side.

 

 

Al-Nassr was the one who first shown greater interest, according to Saudi Gazette, despite reports that teams in the Champions League would be lined up to sign him.

The report stated that Ronaldo "had been hoping to stay in Europe's elite club competition contract, in addition to the sizeable signing-on fee (just under 100 million Euros) is accompanied by financial incentives through advertising, which will make the Portuguese the highest-paid sportsman in the world."

If Ronaldo signs the deal with Al Nassr, his annual salary would be close to 200 million euros, according to the report.

Alvaro Gonzalez will play with Ronaldo at Al Nasser under the guidance of French coach Rudi Garcia.

 

The situation, which also concerns advertising deals, is reportedly being confirmed while Ronaldo and his family are now in Dubai.
