The creator of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, has stated that he is moving to Miami from Seattle for personal reasons. He also mentioned that he wants to be nearer to his parents and the Cape Canaveral operations of Blue Origin.
The billionaire acknowledged his love for Seattle in an Instagram post. The city is where Bezos started Amazon in 1994, growing it into a major worldwide retailer. A video showing Bezos musing on the company's history while working at Amazon's first Seattle office was also included in the article.
"Seattle has been my home since 1994 when I started Amazon out of my garage," he said as the post's caption. In this film, my dad is seen exploring Amazon's first "office" behind the camera. My parents have been my staunchest allies for ever.
They just returned to Miami, where we used to reside (I attended Miami Palmetto High School in 1982; go Panthers!). Lauren and I like Miami, and I want to be near my folks. Additionally, Blue Origin is moving its activities closer to Cape Canaveral. After all of that, I intend to leave the Pacific Northwest and head back to Miami.
I've spent more time living in Seattle than anyplace else, and I have a ton of incredible memories from my time here. Even though the relocation is fantastic, I made an emotional decision. I shall always hold a small part of my heart in Seattle."
Being close to Cape Canaveral, Florida, was a major consideration in Bezos's decision to relocate since his private space business, Blue Origin, has been moving its activities there.
