In its sixth assault on the Ukrainian capital this month, Russia, according to officials, used drones built in Iran under the name of Shahed.
According to sources, Russia has launched its sixth airstrike on the capital of Ukraine this month, but all approaching drones were shot down, and preliminary assessments showed no damage or injuries.
A drone strike on Moscow, some 500 kilometres (300 miles) away, prompted Russia to threaten "tough retaliatory measures" the day before the alleged attack on Kyiv, which is located in Ukraine.
According to early reports, all of the Iranian-made Shahed drones used by Russia to attack Kyiv were shot down by Ukraine's air defence systems, Serhiy Popko, the chief of Kyiv's military administration, said on the messaging app Telegram.
"The 3-hour air alert lasted... On the approach to Kiev, all aviation targets were found and neutralised, the man claimed.
"According to the information available at this time, the capital suffered neither casualties nor damage."
The Kyiv regional military administration had previously issued a drone assault alert and advised locals to seek shelter.
The southern Odesa and Mykolaiv areas, which share a portion of Ukraine's Black Sea coast, were also the subject of a drone strike warning from the air force. Since pulling out of a pact that enabled the secure transport of grain from Ukraine last week, Moscow has targeted the regions' port infrastructure often with assault drones and missiles.
According to UN Ambassador Barbara Woodward, the UK has evidence suggesting that the Russian military may attack civilian vessels in the Black Sea in addition to Ukrainian grain facilities. Zelenskyy received the information from Sunak over the phone, according to Woodward.
The lower chamber of the Russian parliament decided to increase the conscription age cap from 27 to 30. Men between the ages of 18 and 30 will now be expected to serve a year in the military, or get equivalent training during higher education, under the new legislation, which takes effect on January 1.
According to the Donetsk region's newly installed Russian leader, Ukrainian forces have lost around 30% of their front-line weaponry supplied by the West.
