This Dangling Thing

About a year ago when I started looking out for whom to fall in love with, my attempt to find true love got punctured at every trial. At first, my neighbors would always take turns making fun of me, they'd say:

" You aren't getting any younger, go and get a spouse."

I wasn't humiliated but I gave it a thought. Was I supposed to be defrauded looking for love? But I got defrauded, emotionally.

The first woman I met was in a business class. She was industrious yet promiscuous. Red-handed I caught her in her apartment with another man, naked. For me, that was the end.

That's for a lady who was telling me:

" Let's keep this relationship, holy and undefiled until the marriage night."

When the episode had gone, though it tore me apart, life must continue.

I decided to give love a try again. This time, it is a sister, pious and religious. No make-up and jewelry. I thought I had reached my Jerusalem. She would cover her head and wear flying gowns. Sister Debby was in the choir and she can sing the Holy Ghost down.

No, no. Not what you think. She didn't sleep with any man. My first time visiting her in the house, I found she had been living in hell, though alive. She was feeding from hand to mouth.

Out of pity but love for her. That weekend, I took her out on a shopping spree. We bought everything you can think about. Beddings, kitchen wares, clothes and food items. When we got to her apartment, she knelt to say thank you.

Find out what happened in the next episode.
