The world or should I say the United Kingdom is in a State of mourning right now. It is no more news that Queen Elizabeth II of England died yesterday. There had been different events resulting from the great loss. It had to be the closure of commercial activities in major sectors of the economy of Great Britain then it went to schools as Britons started to pay homage, tributes and their last respect for the demise monarch.
Sporting activities have also been suspended as a result of the death of Elizabeth. All these are major factors that the elitist class of Great Britain considered as a way to pay the late monarch for her legendary reign in the vast kingdom. She had ruled for seventy years. And that is quite a long time no doubt. The late matriarch lived for 92 years.
Gracefully, she had more impact especially in defending Christianity and communal living around the globe.
However, a Nigerian female professor of linguistics have given the reverse of the matter, stating how the late queen supervised a genocide that claimed the lives of nearly half of her family. That seems like a bad one though if you ask me.
Professor Uju Anya made this assertion on her twitter handle. In response, one time richest man of the world, Jeff Bezos knocked the professor for saying that all she felt about the passing away of the queen is disdain. During the conflict which resulted into civil war between Nigeria and the Republic of Biafra led by late Lt. Col Odumegwu Ojukwu, about three million people lost their lives and property that is unestimable was destroyed. It is a known fact that the devastation is still been felt by the people of eastern Nigeria. Prof. Uju stated how we'll the late matriarch was opoortune and powerful to have stopped the war but left it to continue.
What a time to die. What a time to recall the past. Nothing is hidden forever and nothing last forever. This is my passing world as I joined the world to pay respect for the late queen.
