SHARJAH: Pakistan scored 182-7 against Afghanistan in the third and final Twenty20 international on Monday thanks in large part to an improved batting performance from opener Saim Ayub.
After being sent in to bat by Afghanistan at Sharjah Stadium, Pakistan recovered from their abysmal 92-9 and 130-6 in two losses thanks to a strong 40-ball 49 from Ayub that featured two sixes and four boundaries.
Shadab Khan, the captain, made 28 while Iftikhar Ahmed hit 31 from 25 balls with two sixes. Abdullah Shafique made 23 and was the other key run scorer.
Afghanistan has a 2-0 series lead after winning both games in Sharjah, the first by a combined score of six wickets and the second by seven.
