According to Ukrainian officials, a "massive" Russian drone and missile strike on Kyiv resulted in at least two fatalities and two injuries. Russian cruise missiles and 15 drones were used to assault the city, according to Ukrainian presidential adviser Mikhail Podolyak, who called it a "deliberate attack on the civilian population".
Russian officials claim that Ukrainian drones attacked at least six districts in western Russia. The state-run TASS news agency said that four Il-76 transport aircraft, the Russian military's main workhorse for years, were destroyed at the military airbase in Pskov, which is 600 kilometres (373 miles) from Ukraine. It stated that two of them "burst into flames".
According to the Russian defence ministry, its forces destroyed four military vessels in the Black Sea that were transporting up to 50 members of the Ukrainian special forces. It made no mention of the incident's location.
The military said that while on a mission in Russian-occupied area close to Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine, two helicopter accidents resulted in the deaths of six Ukrainian military personnel.

The Black Sea grain agreement may be replaced, according to the Russian foreign ministry, when Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Turkish colleague Hakan Fidan meet for discussions on Thursday and Friday. According to the plan, Moscow could export a million tonnes of grain to Turkey at a reduced cost, where it would be processed and sent to the world's poorest nations. A separate accord lessened the impact of sanctions on the shipment of Russian food and fertiliser, while the Black Sea arrangement, mediated by the UN and Turkey, permitted Ukraine to export grain from its southern ports. In July, Russia withdrew from the accord.
