Three killed in air raids and shelling as Russia, Ukraine intensify attacks

 

As delegations from 40 nations gather in Saudi Arabia to seek peace in Ukraine, assaults between Moscow and Kiev intensify.

Following Kiev's attack on a Russian ship in the Black Sea, Russian and Ukrainian troops intensified their attacks, resulting in at least three deaths during a night of intensive airstrikes and shelling.

Attacks occurred late on Saturday, while top government representatives from 40 nations, including China, India, and the United States, were in Saudi Arabia to discuss ways to put an end to the conflict in Ukraine.

Late on Saturday, Ukrainian authorities accused Russia of carrying out the attack on a blood bank in the eastern town of Kupiansk, while Moscow-installed authorities charged Kiev of carrying out a fatal shelling strike on the Russian-controlled Donetsk area.

According to Oleh Syniehubov, the commander of the local regional military administration, the attack on Kupiansk in the Kharkiv area resulted in two fatalities and four further injuries.

Russian soldiers allegedly used a "guided aerial bomb," according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who also called the strike a "war crime."

According to Alexei Kulemzin, the mayor of Donetsk, who was selected by Moscow, a woman in her nineties was also killed by Ukrainian shelling in eastern Ukraine's Russian-held Donetsk.

The area's university building was also set on fire during the attack, according to the Donetsk governor appointed by Moscow.

According to Russia's emergency situations ministry, the fire caused the building's roof to fall but no one was hurt.

 

 

The manufacturer of plane and helicopter engines as well as other components, Motor Sich, owned the aeronautics complex. The site is situated about 300 kilometres (186 miles) southwest of Kiev, in western Ukraine, close to the city of Khmelnytskyi.

Russia claimed that "all targets were hit" after attacking military airfields in the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne areas.

According to Moscow officials, the damaged Russian tanker was a "civilian" ship. They condemned Kyiv's "terrorist attack" and promised reprisal. However, according to Ukrainian officials who spoke to the AFP news agency, the SIG tanker was delivering fuel to Russian soldiers engaged in hostilities in their nation.
