1. Artificial Intelligence
(AI) is the use of computers to perform tasks normally associated with humans. AI is the branch of computer science that deals with making machines think like people do. AI is a broad term that encompasses machine learning, natural language processing, expert systems, neural networks, robotics, autonomous agents, and many others.
2. Machine Learning
Machine learning is the subset of artificial intelligence that focuses on teaching computers how to learn without being explicitly programmed. Machine learning is based on algorithms that allow computers to make predictions about future events. These algorithms are trained using data sets that have already been observed.
3. Deep Learning
Deep learning is a subset of machine learning that uses multi-layered neural networks to solve problems. Neural networks are the computational models which are inspired by the human brain. Deep learning is often applied to image recognition, speech recognition, and text mining.
4. Natural Language Processing
Natural language processing is a subfield of artificial intelligence concerned with understanding and producing human languages. NLP is used in applications such as automated customer service, information retrieval, and question answering.
5. Robotics
Robotics is the study of mechanical devices that can move around unassisted. Robots are commonly used in manufacturing, military, and space exploration.
6. Autonomous Agents
An autonomous agent is a software program that makes decisions based on its own programming. An example of an autonomous agent would be a self-driving car.
7. Humanoid Robots
Humanoid robots are robots designed to look and act like humans. Examples of humanoid robots include ASIMO, Honda's Asimo, and Boston Dynamics' Atlas robot.
