Chelsea have confirmed that they have agreed terms with Borussia Dortmund over the transfer of Andreas Christensen from the German club.
The Blues had been linked with the Denmark international since last summer but were unable to agree a deal with his current employers.
Christensen has impressed at BVB this season, scoring six goals in 22 appearances. He was named Young Player of the Year at Euro 2016 after helping Denmark reach the semi-finals.
Christensen has been at Chelsea since he was eight years old and has represented Denmark at youth level before making his senior debut last season. He has played just four times for the Blues this term but had previously spent time out injured.
Chelsea are now expected to complete the signing of Christensen in the coming days. The 23-year-old joined Chelsea from Brondby in 2015 after impressing in the Danish Superliga.
Chelsea manager also said: “I am happy and i think that we can improve our squad with these transfers.” Christensen has won two caps for Denmark, including a start against England in November 2016.
