On Sunday of Week 7, the first NFL window wasn't very favourable for fantasy players. In five of the seven games, the total was not reached. The woeful Carolina Panthers were too much for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to handle. The Green Bay Packers continue to appear damaged. Perhaps there will be no Detroit Lions carnival. The Cincinnati Bengals and Joe Burrow deserve our gratitude, though. They desire our happiness.
Burrow playing well indicates that multiple fantasy alternatives will be profitable. The Bengals' target tree is compact. Tyler Boyd contributed 8-155-1, while Ja'Marr Chase broke the game for the second week in a row (8-130-2). Tee Higgins didn't have his best performance, but a return of 5-93-0 is acceptable. As for Hayden Hurst's 6-48-0, we'll take it given how awful tight end is this year.
Perhaps as a result of Burrow's appendectomy in the summer or the arrival of numerous new offensive lineman, Cincinnati started the season slowly. Burrow suffered 13 sacks in the first two games, both of which were defeats. But since then, everything has worked out well, in part because Burrow has improved his game and the protection has become better.
In Cincinnati, not everything is ideal. Despite an offseason makeover, Burrow took three sacks on Sunday, highlighting offensive line issues that have persisted from last season. Joe Mixon averaged 3.4 yards per rush on a day with 54 yards while still having trouble finding room to run. However, the Bengals' explosiveness from last season is back.
Of course, Mariota shares some of the responsibility because he took three sacks and has limited potential, which is why the Falcons persist on favouring the run so much. However, it would be wrong to give Drake London just one goal given the game's plot. Five times Kyle Pitts was targeted, but none of the throws had much of an impact.
