Discovery of planets outside the solar system

Astronomers have discovered a planet outside the solar system.  The planet is said to be 'abnormally large'.  It revolves around a small star.

 Its location is 280 light years away from our earth.  A CNN report on Saturday (February 25) reported the discovery of a new planet.

 According to the report, the newly discovered planet has been named TOI 5205b.  However, due to its unusually large size, scientists also call it a 'forbidden planet'.  The largest planet in our solar system is Jupiter.  The newly discovered planet is almost the same size as this Jupiter.

The planet was found by scientists using NASA's Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TES).  The TESS satellite's planetary exploration mission began in 2018.  Hundreds of potential planets have been discovered so far in this mission.
