The Venezuelan athlete Yulimar Rojas, double world triple jump champion, has qualified for Sunday's final with a mark of 14.77 meters made in her first effort at the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo.
The qualifying mark was 14.40 meters, so that the disciple of Cuban Iván Pedroso did not need to continue competing.
Rojas, world leader of the year with 15.43, was Olympic runner-up in Rio 2016, behind the Colombian Caterine Ibargüen (who today competes in group B), and is the great favorite to hang the gold medal here.
