Pepper 🌶️ is known as the "king of spices" it is very popular in the world. They are tropical plants that grows yearly in warm season, they are mostly grown in Nigeria. Pepper is one of the world's 🌎 second-ranking vegetable, after tomatoes. It is the most produced spice used for flavouring and colouring foods. Agriculture has been the strong source of livelihood of many nations, and it has created job opportunity in so many countries. Pepper 🌶️ is of a high value, because it can be imported and exported out of the country in order to reach a wide varieties of people that needs it.
Pepper 🌶️ is mostly grown for money 💰 all over the world 🌎. Nigeria is one if the top countries that produces pepper globally. Nigeria has good soil for growing pepper in good quantity. Commercial farmers usually dry their pepper, ground it and then export it. Exportation of pepper 🌶️ is one of the lucrative business in Nigeria. Pepper is also used for making creams that relief muscle pain, inflammation and itching, toilet infection and many other skin diseases.
HOW IS PEPPER PLANTED
Pepper 🌶️ planting is done by firstly getting a fresh pepper, tear it apart and pour it out and then expose it to direct sunlight to dry. Then you either make small beds with compose manure or you use nylon bags and make small holes underneath it, put compose manure in the bags and then spread the pepper seeds on the manure and cover it with soil, then leave it for about 6 to 10 weeks. Then transfer them to your piece of land with a spacing of 3m x 2m into the soil.
Pepper 🌶️ cannot grow where a temperature drops below 12°c, it also needs heavy rainfall of 2000mm every year. It needs high humidity and a warm climate. The soil should have good structure and good water holding capacity and it should be constantly drained to prevent the root from rottening. The pH of the soil should be from 5.5 to 6.0 pH.
