99 DAYS FOR THE THIEF, ONE DAY FOR THE OWNER

If God had not given me strength to see today, I’d never have believed the phrase ‘99 days for the thief, 1 day for the owner.’ had sense hidden in it.

Prior to today, I felt that particular phrase lacked good reasoning. I couldn’t understand how someone would steal from you for 99 days, then you’d go rejoicing after catching him for just one day. For me, you were cheated upon.

Todays escapade proved me wrong. The 1 day for the thief is actually very important and worth waiting for. It’s satisfying too. It brings back joy and takes away the sorrow you’ve been engulfed in throughout the 99days.

Pay keen attention to my ordeal.

My younger ones are fond of coming to my room to share my food with me. They know I don’t eat much. As a result, they take advantage of this and disturb my leisure.

On so many occasions, they leave my door unlocked when leaving. They give way for mosquitoes 🦟 to enter my room and disturb me at night.

With anger and pain I always sleep. I slap and beat myself I order to kill mosquitoes. It’s always a nightmare entering my room at night.

Today, I went to a supermarket to purchase some toiletries. I noticed a long red can with portraits of mosquitoes on it. For a second, I thought it was some food for mosquitoes. Taking a very careful look at it, I discovered it was some kind of poison for mosquitoes; an insecticide. At last, I’ve found a cure.

Fast forward to 30 minutes later, I’m home. I’ve sprayed the insecticide in my room and to say it’s as still as a graveyard is to say the least. They are all gone; dead, on the floor.

These mosquitoes have disturbed me for 99days. I’ve used one day to recover from all the pain they’ve put me through. Seeing them dead on the floor gives me so much joy.

I’m not a serial killer, but I’m excited these ones are dead.

Indeed, 99 days for the thief, 1  day for the owner.
