Torrent is an online file sharing protocol or technology. Which uses P2P i.e. peer to peer technology. File peers share each other's computing power bandwidth through peer-to-peer network technology. If you and I share a file on a peer-to-peer basis, you and I are clients. We request the server to download and upload. Better yet - there's a file or program on an FTP server that a few of us are currently downloading. Here we are requesting the client and FTP server for the file. Now the more clients and requests, the more pressure will be put on the ATP server and the performance will slow down. This is called a fixed client server architecture. And the opposite is true in P2P. The more clients and requests here, the more the sharing performance will increase. This is because in a fixed client server architecture no one shares anyone's bandwidth but each other's bandwidth is shared in Pitupi or torrent.
Not to mention some of the torrent issues before moving on torrent:
A torrent file is a meta file or a file rich in necessary information. Where there is some information about the file that will be downloaded through torrent such as the name of the file, the size of the file and the tracker URL (which I will talk about later).
peer or leecher:
Peer is the computer you are connected to and the bittorrent client you are using to download files via torrent. Pierre is also called Leecher. Licorice means one or more people are sharing a specific file and you are downloading part of the file from them. When you start downloading files via torrent, you have no part of the file. You are downloading the file to be a cedar or file sharer. So you are a peer or a leecher.
seed or seeder
Cedar is the one who is downloading or doing the whole part of the file using BitTorrent client and at the same time is sharing the part of the file with other peers. The download speed of a torrent depends on the number of cedars in that torrent. The higher the number of cedars or sharers, the higher the download speed or performance.
swarm
A swarm is the sum of the number of cedars or sharers and the lychee or downloader connected to each other for a particular file. In other words, if 10 people share a file through torrent and 5 people download it, then this intermediate communication of 15 people is called swarm.
tracker
When files are downloaded via torrent, there is a server to maintain communication between the cedar and the lychee. This server is the tracker. A tracker server URL is specified when creating torrents. This tracker keeps track of how many cedars and leeches the torrent currently has. You can find out from your BitTorrent client how many cedars or leeches are currently available for that torrent.
