The book "The Razor Blade" by Ivan Efremov

I decided to read this book because of the frequent mention in my infofield + I was inspired after reading "The Hour of the Bull" and "Thais of Athens" I will definitely write more about them. And I did not lose ;)

I started reading 100 pages in one gulp - to red eyes and boundless admiration and stumbled on the philosophy of India. All these complicated names, legends, rules-wow! I realized that such a volume of information needs to be savored and passed through myself.

In the "Razor's Edge" - everyone is beautiful, young, slim and spiritually perfect. It is surprising that the evil characters are not revealed at all - they are there somewhere, they interfere from afar and kill the main characters, but for some reason there is no emphasis on evil. The feeling that the author wanted to emphasize the invisibility of the struggle for beauty.

It is surprising how much events are compressed-a super-lot of events can happen in 2 pages and immediately unfold global dialogues about the meaning of life, the role of women in society, health and other important things. Moreover, these arguments look extremely harmonious. So much so that I began to think why such long monologues disappeared in our lives :D

Oh, the black-browed blonde beauty who listened to the lecture would have known that in fact everything is even worse with love than Girin told her. What are there "ideas about the beautiful"?! In personal relationships, homo sapiens has not gone far from other mammals - he is similarly guided by pheromones, even physical beauty plays a secondary role when choosing a partner. British scientists have experimentally proved. And the beauty of the soul is somewhere on the twentieth place after the comma in terms of influence.

Of course, a person is not a beast. With such a developed brain. The ambush is that the cerebral cortex is needed not to make a choice, but to justify a choice already made by more ancient parts of the brain, which, alas, are incapable of abstract thinking - for them physical beauty is as incomprehensible as mental beauty.

As a result, after reading "Razor Blade", I have a complete feeling that I have talked enough with the smartest people from all over the world. Although the sediment of contradictions does not leave me: Efremov writes a lot about the importance of health, and some heroes drink and smoke. And the smartest people! It's like in "Sherlock Holmes" every story began with an advertisement for drugs.)))

I recommend reading it to those who are interested in the meaning of life, the dialectical unity of happiness and other philosophical tricks. And I, perhaps, after a while I will continue to study the work of the most interesting poet and geologist Ivan Efremov
