Joshua has always been the go-to man in his place of work, family, and among friends. He always seems to have a solution to everyone’s issue, and this has always made him people’s favorite. On one fateful day, things began to regress for Joshua, and he was practically useless to everyone and himself. Joshua has a big problem, but he could not bring himself down to ask for help from anyone. He believed he could resolve the issue on his own, but he could never have been more wrong. The problem consumed him due to his pride.
While it is easy for some people to bring themselves down to ask for help from others quickly, it is a bit of a challenge for others due to their status and position. In a world where information is quite limitless, no one could probably have the answer to all questions. However, seeking answers seems to be an uphill task for many people. Some of the factors that make it hard to get help are:
- Being a man
- Pride
- Character
- Ego
- Status
- Not knowing where to go
- Not speaking up
- Being the always go-to person
The bad thing about not being able to speak about one’s problems is that it gets to a point where the issues burst up and explode. The issues eating one up and not being able to talk about it chokes one up. Especially when the person who needs help happens to be a man, society has programmed man to be all-knowing, and they expect men never to speak up. Men are programmed to be seen as the firm go-to human, which takes a toll on them, and men are not expected to break down.
So, this article is preaching that everyone may need help regardless of their status, and we should do better to create an avenue for this set of people to speak up regardless of their gender and position. Also, people should always try to be their brother’s keeper. Everyone feeling too big to seek solutions should drop their ego and pride and ask even their subordinate who could have solutions or answers to their immediate problems.
