I have always enjoyed schooling right from a very young age. I believe that going to school is the best way to get educated and further secure a great future for myself through the numerous certificates I could earn. I grew up knowing that I couldn’t have been more wrong, which happened right after I had to drop out of my master’s degree. The harsh lesson that I learned right after this is that I don’t really need school to secure a great future for myself.
Saying that a University certificate does not determine one success in life might sound not very honest because I am gainfully employed with the certificate I earned during four years at the university. The truth remains that the certificate only got me an interview but what made my company employ me is the education, skills, and experience gathered outside of the school building. The skills I acquired on my own from engaging in online courses on my account and the free and paid training I was in attendance for.
This is not to diminish the importance of gaining a university degree, as it also has a part to play. This is to share more light on the fact that to become successful. People need beyond the education gotten from the walls of a school. In the world we are now, they are lots of job opportunities that could change one’s life in an instant that doesn’t even need the person to have a university degree.
Writers, Graphic designers, Digital marketers, Photographers, Videographers, and Editors are just a tip of the modern-day professions in which university certificates are not needed, yet they pay handsomely well. This day, on most occasions, to be fully employed, the employer will likely ask for a professional course certificate like ICAN, CIBN, and ACCA before you could be considered for a job position.
The world has moved; we should move with it and stop living in the old to position ourselves for the numerous opportunities emerging in the new economy. So, in summary, people don’t entirely need to depend on their university certificate if they want to enjoy a life of comfort. Go for extra training, sit for professional exams, and self-study to acquire new skills. At least I forgot, read books about a field you would like to thrive. Secrets are embedded in the pages of books, and an average human does not read books.
