We still have a little time left, even though the end of our trip is now very close. Ultimately, it is still just a short trip, even though this time we are travelling longer than usual.
But maybe there’s never enough time for Kyoto. I could probably spend a few weeks here without ever getting bored of the city and its surroundings.
After all, it’s always a question of time and, above all, money. And we’re always a bit short on both. But we’re still happy to be here and to be able to explore this amazing city.
For those who don’t know, Kyoto is the cultural and traditional heart of Japan and was the country’s imperial capital for over a thousand years. To this day, this is reflected in the extraordinary density of temples, shrines, and traditional neighborhoods. There’s something to see everywhere, though you’re rarely alone while doing so.
As usual, I’ve taken a whole bunch of photos, though I’ll have to back them up and sort through them once we get back. But I’ve brought a few pictures along to give you a little preview today. The rest will come later, once I’ve cleared my head and have a little time to spare. In any case, I’ve got plenty to tell you...
