Hello friends! One of the recent posts by Natalia from Italy inspired me with the idea that the confrontation between fathers and children concerns not only adolescence and a little older. It can also overtake when children themselves become parents.
As a child, I lived with my grandmother on my father's side (the kingdom of heaven!). Then I heard from my mother a phrase-wish that we live separately from our parents when we grow up. I somehow remember this.
Having given birth to a child, my husband and I lived separately for the first year, in a small room in a hostel. When the child grew up, the housing issue arose again. There was not enough space, they began to look for a solution to the issue. While they were selling their homes and looking for a new one, they decided to stay with their mother-in-law. I will not go into details, I will only say that it is better to live separately. It seemed that everything was fine, but sometimes conflicts could not be avoided - sometimes there were too different views on everything, including on issues of upbringing. But how we became friends with my husband's mother after we left! Of course, I am infinitely grateful that they sheltered us, while I still like life apart from my parents much more.
I will probably never forget one incident. We are going for a walk with our daughter. The mother-in-law comes and asks: “Why did you dress the child so lightly? It's autumn outside, it's cool. It should be warmer! " A few minutes later, the husband came up and asked: “Why did the daughter dressed so warmly? Warm outside?" Based on these two questions, I concluded that I had dressed my daughter correctly.
There is a well-known phrase: “Children are the flowers of life. So entrust them to experienced gardeners! " I can say that the responsibility for children remains with the parents, the opinion of grandparents should be taken into account, but the last word is always with the parents.
