Change Yourself First

K

We may or may not have knowledge about everything inside us, but we never forget to sniff at the work of others! Our greatest habit is to give advice to people. Although we do not have all the qualities in ourselves, we advise others to acquire those qualities!

There is no shortage of such people in the society. But we don't think for a second that we can't advise or tell others to possess the qualities that we don't have. But to be honest, we are more comfortable giving advice or criticizing the work of others than our own work. This is our greatest scholarship. Although I am no exception. But these are our worst deeds.

In fact, there are some people in our society who judge others. If someone does not support his parents, he threatens them. Of course, this work deserves praise. But the sad thing is that this judge does not support his own parents. So many times many people directly point out his bad aspects and abuse him.

There is an important hadith in Islam about this. One day a man came with his son to the greatest prophet of Islam, Hazrat Muhammad (SM:). And the man says my son eats extra sweet national food despite being prohibition him. Please forbid him to eat less sweets. Then Hazrat Mohammad (SM:) said I will tell your son when you come after few days later. The man brought his son the after few days later and Muhammad (SM:) kindly told the boy not to eat too much sweets. Then the man was surprised and asked if you could say this speech that day. Then Muhammad (SM:) said that I did not forbid him to eat sweets that day because I also eat a lot of sweets. That's why I stopped eating sweets and advised your son. Then the man left happy.

The reason for this is that we often do not turn away from our own faults and advise others to stay away from those faults. As a result, we often hear harsh words. Nor does anyone take our advice. Many times people criticize us for this.

That is why when it comes to advising someone or criticizing someone or getting someone's justice, you have to first clear yourself of guilt or change yourself. If we can change ourselves first from anything then we can certainly change others. But if we do not change, we will never be able to change others or give advice or counsel to anyone. If we give advice or counsel to others without changing ourselves, they will be nothing but a laughing stock to others. As a result, we must first change ourselves. So let's change ourselves, let's change the whole world.
