🖊️ COMMENTARY

In the Christian life, there are periods of distress, disillusion discouragement, darkness and danger. There are moments when life and death are in the balance and we have no personal formula how to top the balance to our advantage. At such moments we should not dodge or struggle; our only option is to cry to God as Peter did to Jesus. He will answer us, and save us. Helpless is the soul that in such moment of pain and danger knows no body to whom it can cry to. On the contrary, blessed is he who knows Him whose ear is not heavy that He cannot hear, nor His hand too short that He cannot save. 

Many today are seasonal followers of Christ. When it is convenient and pleasurable they follow. But with a change of the scenario, they query: "Why has the Lord not heard us or has He forgotten to be gracious?" Ask the Patriarchs what has been the spot that triggered off their prosperity; they will variously point to the coldground on which they once lay. Ask Joseph, he will point to the prison cell. Ask Moses, he will remind you of the sacrifice at Moriah. Ask Paul, he will remind you of the light that blinded him.

Ask the Master Jesus, He will refer you to Gethsemane. 

You too, your soul will be crowned by Heaven if and only if you will begin to venture beyond your sense and sight from today. Can you dare the impossible like Peter believing and trusting in the saving power of Jesus? You can enrich your experience in Christ by the depth of the experience you allow Him to put you through. Peter alone walked on water because he alone was ready to venture and dare the impossible among the rest of the disciples.
