*TOPIC: DO NOT BREAK THE HEDGE*

📖 *TODAY'S TEXT:*
Judges 16:18-21

🔑 *KEY VERSE:*
"He that digs a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaks a hedge, serpent shall bite him" (Ecclesiastes 10:8).

🖊️ *COMMENTARY*
Every believer in Christ has a hedge of protection around him. This hedge of protection repels the enemy from attacking us. In the story of Job, Satan said something very instructive in Job 1:10 which says "Have you not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land."

As a child of God, you are under divine protection 24/7. As long as you live within the boundaries of the word of God, that protection stands.

Job remained under that divine protection until the enemy struck with the permission of God. In the case of Job, he did not break the hedge, the enemy was jealous of his devotion to God. Without God's permission, Satan couldn't get through to Job. God will protect you as long as you live within the provision of His grace.

Do not break the hedge like Samson did. He got entangled with the enemy of God's people, the Philistines. Solomon broke the hedge when he married strange women who were idol worshippers.

God asked Moses to speak to the rock, but he struck the rock and broke the hedge and because of that he did not enter the promised land. Stay with divine instructions so that you can continue to enjoy divine protection.
