*TOPIC: DEMERITS OF HAVING UNGODLY RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD*

  *TODAY'S TEXT:* 

Numbers 23:16-26

  *KEY VERSE:* 

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful." (Hebrews 10:23, NIV)

  *COMMENTARY*

There are potential negative consequences or 'demerits" of having an ungodly relationship with God or neglecting one's spiritual connection with God. These may include:

  *Spiritual emptiness* i.e. Neglecting or disregarding one's relationship with God can result in a sense of emptiness or lack of purpose in life.

  *Moral and ethical challenges:* A lack of a godly relationship can lead to moral and ethical challenges.

  *Lack of guidance and wisdom;* i.e. Without a connection with God, individuals may lack a source of guidance and wisdom, leading to confusion;

  *Emotional and psychological challenges:* Without having a connection, to God, individuals may face emotional and psychological challenges, such as increased stress, anxiety, and loneliness.

  *Separation from a source of love and grace:* Without a godly relationship, individuals may feel disconnected from this source of love and may struggle with feelings of guilt, shame, and unworthiness.

  *Lack of perspective on life and the afterlife:* A godly relationship often provides a broader perspective on life, death, and the afterlife.

Without this perspective, individuals may have limited understanding or outlook on these existential questions, which can impact their worldview and sense of purpose.
