🖊️ *COMMENTARY* 

Holiness is God's uncompromising standard and requirement for going to heaven and having a meaningful relationship with Him. There is no substitute for Holiness. Unfortunately, our generation is trying to substitute holiness for many things. Religiosity, legalism and outward show of Spirituality cannot replace holiness of life. Great preaching and teaching cannot substitute holiness. Great singing and extravagant giving in the Church cannot be a substitute for holiness. Showing great zeal for the work of God or demonstrating outward Spirituality cannot be a substitute for holiness.

Holiness is total separation from sin and conforming to the image and likeness of Christ. Nothing short of this can please God. The sons of Aaron were Priest but when they offered strange fire in the Temple, they were destroyed. Elil's children also perished because they did not maintain God's standard of Holiness. Ananias and Saphira his wife were judged even though they came with fat offering to the Apostle because, they told lies. This shows clearly that a good offering cannot take the place of holiness of life. God Himself is a holy God. Jesus is holy. Joseph, Daniel, the disciples all lived a holy life. No man can serve God without genuine holiness. Let us by all means live a holy life. There is no substitute for practical, genuine holiness if heaven is one's goal.
