*TOPIC: A CRIPPLED WORLD*

📖 *TODAY'S TEXT:*
Acts 3: 2-11

🔑 *KEY VERSE:*

🖊️ *COMMENTARY*
lt was a most sobering and pitiable scenario in Ikeja, Lagos mid-June 2019 when a 25-year old beggar fought mercilessly with a pastor for healing him without his consent. Opera Mini News reported that Prince Edet had been in the begging business for 15 years during which he built a 5- bedroom house from the proceeds of his business.

He was quoted: "I don't know this man from anywhere. I was doing my regular business when he came close. I asked him for money which he said he had none. So he said, 'I command you in Jesus name to walk.' All of the sudden I was healed so I tried standing up and here I was walking. I never asked him to heal me. This is a complete invasion of privacy and unlawful healing without my consent. At least, first tell me you want to heal me so that I ask you to give me some three months to intensify the begging and make more cash during the period...."

When the Pastor promised to help him to secure a job, Prince the beggar allegedly turned down the offer and insisted to be restored to his cripple status. Oh, what a degenerate and crippled world we are in! How so different from the reaction of another crippled person at the gate called Beautiful of the Jerusalem temple who was healed by the Apostles Peter and John? "All the people saw him walking and praising God" (Acts 3:9).

But our world has become so crippled by sin that the cripple wants to remain lame and reject the offer of salvation given freely by God through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Many have sold their souls to material things and no matter how great the grace and power of God manifest to them, they still will not be moved. Don't be like Prince the beggar! He saw the right road and ran back into the bush. Allow the Holy Spirit to purge you of any sin that may be threatening your relationship with God today.
