*TOPIC: BEAUTY OF CONTENTED GODLINESS*

📖 *TODAY'S TEXT:* 

1 Timothy 6:6

🔑 *KEY VERSE:* 

"But godliness with contentment is great gain" (1 Timothy 6:6).

🖊️ *COMMENTARY*

Material possessions and wealth should not be the ultimate goal of life, but rather a life of devotion to God and the Spirit of contentment should be what we strive for. The beauty of contented Christianity is encompassing and can neither be overemphasized nor gainsaid. It ranges from but not limited to peace of mind in spite of situational - environmental factors, joy of ministry (work) satisfaction, enjoyment of godly values instead of enduring them as if carnality is more rewarding than spirituality, and obedience to leadership without coercion and so on.

The use of the phrase 'great gain' portrays the value of godliness and contentment; having a sense of contentment in one's heart and mind which is of greater value. While wealth and possessions may provide temporary satisfaction, they ultimately do not bring lasting fulfillment. However, a life of godliness and contentment leads to a sense of peace and fulfillment that cannot be found in material things. All Christians should develop a cordial relationship with God and seek contentment through spiritual fulfillment, rather than placing too much emphasis on worldly possessions and wealth.

In this era of agitation, grabbing tendencies and flamboyancy, if believers put on the ornament of contentment, we have everything to gain in God but absolutely nothing to lose as some erroneously assume. When we gave our lives to Christ, made scriptural required restitution such as withdrawing completely from worldly meetings and immoral relationships with excitement, we were tagged crazy lost men but today, due to unwavering tenacity with Christ, many have not only changed their languages but joined us.

It has been proven beyond reasonable argument that Jesus did not leave us as and where He met us. We are Jesus made and He continues to do so in as much as we are still following Him without negotiation and compromise.
