🖊️ *COMMENTARY* 

A 25-year-old woman and mother of two who used to frequent a prayer house to get help in securing financial favor from men. She became a victim of her craft in May last year. The Nigerian Tribune reported that the said woman went out one fateful day to get a "prayer for money favor from a certain rich client but her trip to see the so-called prophet that day became the end of the road for her.

According to the report, the Prophet" decided instead to kill her and use her body parts for his own ritual money. The "prophet" told the police when he was apprehended that he gave the woman gin which made her fall into a deep sleep during which he used a cutlass to slash off her head and cut out her body parts needed to do his ritual before dumping her other remains in the bush.

You may say, “Serves her right," or, "this is a case of dog eat dog" but it suffices to illustrate the alarming rate at which many Christians run after so-called miracle workers, solution providers, seers, healers, and all sorts of spiritual merchants who prey on our lack of knowledge. Proverbs 11: 9b tells us

that "through knowledge shall the just be delivered" while Hosea 4:6 says, "My people are destroyed for lack of

knowledge..."

Who are you chasing?  The miracle or the author of it? I love the mantra of one aged Assemblies of God saint. She often

says, "What I can't get on my knees in Assemblies of God Altar, such a thing is not for me!" What about you?
