*TOPIC: OUR ATTITUDE TOWARD CRISIS SITUATION*

📖 *TODAY'S TEXT:*
1 Samuel 30:1 -19; Job 1:1-22

🔑 *KEY VERSE:*
"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in Him; but I will maintain mine ways before Him" (Job 13:15)

🖊️ *COMMENTARY*
A story was said of two women who lost their husbands and certain amount of money was paid to them as gratuity on behalf of their late husbands, one of them put her loss behind her and moved on. She started business with the money and started training her children, few years later all her children became university graduates. But the other woman continued crying everyday as long as she remembered her late husband without considering what to do with the money. After few years she took ill and she was using the money treating herself. It was not long she died leaving her children as orphans.

Some people have taken wrong decisions during crisis situation. Few months ago, some Nigerians abroad tore their international passport because of the outcome of the 2023 presidential election. Some Christians left their Churches because of crisis, crisis situation is a time when people's maturity is tested. David had a right attitude toward crisis situation. When the enemies
invaded his home in Ziklag, took his wives and that of his men, took their properties and burnt the whole place. David and his men wept bitterly. David's men reacted negatively toward the situation. They spoke of stoning David. But David reacted in a right manner. The Bible says, "But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God" (I Sam. 30:6a). David went to the Lord in prayer and God gave him divine direction on how to recover all his losses. Whenever we find ourselves in a crisis situation we should always remember God's promises. He said, "Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me" (Psa. 50:15).

We should not be discouraged in the face of crisis. May we not forget that Christ did not promise us a smooth journey but a safe landing. Christ our Saviour is not Lord against the storm but Lord in the midst of storm. He promised us peace in time of trouble (John. 16:33). God promised us His presence in both fire and water (Isa. 43:2). We should hold unto God and remain resolute in Him when crisis occurs. Certainly, He will deliver us according to His promise.
