*TOPIC: PRINCIPLES FOR PROFITABLE WORK 2*

📖 *TODAY'S TEXT:* 

Genesis 26:1-6, 12-13

🔑 *KEY VERSE:* 

"Then Isaac sowed seed in that land and received in the same year a hundred times as much as he had planted, and the Lord favored him with blessings" Genesis 26:12 (AMP).

🖊️ *COMMENTARY*

God wants us to be successful with the work of our hands. One of the Ways our works must yield us profit is by listening to God's voice. Peter had Worked all night without any result but the moment he heard and heeded the Voice of Christ, he recorded unprecedented results. Twice the voice came, twice he made great profits.

Isaac had planned to relocate to Egypt because of the severe famine in the Palestine land but the voice of God came to him and commanded that he remained in Gerar. Isaac obeyed and had such a great harvest that his

landlords envied him. The voice of God is His guidance and direction. Believers who cannot hear or listen to God's voice deny themselves of God's guidance and directions. God alone knows where our harvest abounds and His voice takes us there. God still speaks. He speaks audibly, He speaks with a still small voice in our mind, He speaks through visions and dreams, He speaks through the mouth of men and circumstances. Ask Him to train your ears to recognize His voice whenever He speaks.

The voice didn't put the fish in Peter's net. The voice of God didn't bring a harvest to Isaac in His house. In the case of Peter, twice, on two different occasions, the voice asked him to cast the net with a specific directive. The first was, "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch" and the second was, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat". Both times, Peter worked. Isaac heard the voice of God and went to work. The voice of God does not substitute work rather, work brings the word of God to fulfillment. There is no substitute for work. For your profitable harvest, put your hands to work. Work intuitively, work intelligently, work skillfully, and work diligently.

When hard work is done in the will of God and His guidance, the result is not just a hundredfold harvest but continuous and increasing prosperity.

Don't just work. Allow God to lead you into what you ought to do. Don't just hear the voice of God, let His voice spur you unto work. Then shall your work be profitable.
