*TOPIC: THE POWER OF TESTIMONY 1 (THANKSGIVINGI*

📖 *TODAY'S TEXT:*
Mark 5:18-21

🔑 *KEY VERSE:*
"However, Jesus... said to him, 'go home to your friend and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you and how he has had compassion on you" (Mark 5:19).

🖊️ *COMMENTARY*
The faithfulness of God on us is renewed every morning; therefore, we have things to testify of everyday. Testifying the goodness of the Lord publicly is so important for the following reasons:
*It is an encourager* - There are many people in the church who are so downcast that they conclude God no longer answers prayers. Such people are encouraged when they hear testimonies of answered prayers.

*It is an edifier* - Testimonies build up spirituality. It is a motivator -when you say thank you to the doer, he will do more and the testifier will testify more.

*It is a booster* - Testimonies grow churches. A lot of people have left their churches for another because of testimonies they heard somewhere not knowing that same miracles take place in their own church. They are not privileged to hear the one from their church because no time was given for testimonies.

*It glorifies God* - God's name is lifted when we testify of His wondrous works. It is a fulfillment of God's expectation- just like human beings, God expects us to say thank you to Him. It frees the testifier from being an ingrate.

Jesus gave the man delivered of demons the opportunity to testify. Those who heard it marveled and it drew crowd to Jesus. Don't conceal your testimonies. Say them publicly; it does a lot of good works.
