📖 *TODAY'S TEXT:* 

1 John 2:28-3:3

🔑 *KEY VERSE:* 

"It has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know...we shall be like Him." (1 John 3:2)

🖊️ *COMMENTARY*

God never left man to grope around, wandering aimlessly and wondering what would be the outcome of life's adventure. Rather, He has provided concrete plans to order our steps in the right direction. Some religious beliefs leave their followers to so much uncertainty about their future, while some others teach their followers of the likelihood they would be returning to earth as some form of animals, including insects.

Hope! Completion! Those two words are even more meaningful to the Christian in our unpredictable, wavering and wayward universe. They have never left us in doubt, they assure us that by the power of Redemption, God has set Jesus Christ as the only pattern. As the Master Architect of life, He has set His Only Begotten Son as the example and model of who we shall certainly become. That way we are freed from human speculations and the frustration of wondering and wandering in search of meaning and relevance.

Though we are still like unfinished projects, our hope is renewed as we set our gaze and visualize the finished work set before us. The apostle Paul aptly captured the scene in 2 Cor. 3:16-18 and urges us to turn, and with unveiled faces look to the Lord. Thus the believer can keep being remodeled with the sure hope that someday we will be like the Lord Jesus-1 John 3:2. That is every Christian's hope of completion.

Our lives always seem to be in a state of transformation. This can be frustrating because the process is replete with sin and failure. As we visualize the finished work, we can have hope.

Dear Lord, help me to keep in mind a vision of You and yield to Your grace to see a finished me.
