*TOPIC: THE BROKEN NEEDS MENDING*

📖 *TODAY'S TEXT:*
Philippians 2:12-24

🔑 *KEY VERSE:*
"I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state." (Philippians 2:20).

🖊️ *COMMENTARY*
The society we live in is corrupt and sordid and we often must come across people who have been deformed and broken by its influence. Such persons are quite in search of answers to their predicament, but repeatedly they end up the more entangled. Sin does take its toll and deepen its strangle hold on its victim until there appears help.

Humanity is in desperate need of help and sometimes even in the midst of plenty, you find those who modernity have robbed of their dignity as they are not able to cope with the twists and turns of life. The political uncertainties and socio-economic downturns make many to live below unbearable hardship. To escape their plights, some resort to drugs, prostitution, and others are willing to cross the desert by foot and take the risk of crossing Mediterranean Sea by rafts, pushed by the "japa" syndrome in search of greener pastures in Europe and other developed Countries, they are unafraid of fierceness of the open sea.

Though these human souls are broken, they need to be put together again. God cares about our situation and has taken steps to restore us to wholeness. He came into the world in the person of Jesus Christ, and He fashioned the Church as His Body so that "the members should have the same care for one another" -1 Cor. 12:25. Timothy demonstrated that kind of care -Philippians 2:20. Caring is as basic as giving to help destitute Christians or looking after aged parents, as simple as being patient and kind in our fast and hostile universe, or visiting widows and orphans in their distresses. It is as obvious as paying a just wage to employees, as and when due. God desires to care for the broken. Are we letting Him do so through us?
