TOPIC: VICTORY THROUGH CHRIST'S DEATH AND RESURRECTION

📖 TODAY'S TEXT:

Matthew. 28:1-8; 1 Corinthians. 15:55; 6: 14.

"O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? (1 Cor. 15:55, KJV).

🖊️ COMMENTARY

When we talk of victory, we're talking about winning, conquest, Success, and triumph. Jesus the Christ gives victory to those who believe in Him. You're a victor if you believe in Jesus.

Jesus Christ was arrested, judged, unlawfully condemned and finally crucified according to the Scripture. All for man's sake. Contrary to the insinuation that He fainted, He actually died and was confirmed dead by soldiers who pieced His sides, John 19: 33. Joseph from Arimathea carried His body and buried in his (Joseph's) tomb. While in the grave He was not inactive, rather, He used that period to perfect our victory over sin and Satan. Early Sunday morning my Lord triumphantly got up and went out of the grave. He was not trapped down by any force, human or spirit.

Notice that there was an earthquake when He died (Matt. 27:54), and earthquake when He resurrected (Matt. 28:2). Jesus Christ resurrected and emphatically declared that all powers had been given to Him. Principalities could not stand Him because He is the Head of principalities. Jesus Christ our Lord is no longer in the grave! He is alive to die no more! With Him on our side, the victory we desire is granted.
