*TOPIC: EXPRESSIONS OF TRUE LOVE*

📖 *TODAY'S TEXT:* 

SONGS OF SOLOMON 1:1-7

🔑 *KEY VERSE:* 

"....thou whom my soul loveth" (Songs 1:7).

🖊️ *COMMENTARY*

It has been rightly observed that an unexpressed love is no love at all. It is always very expedient to let the object(s) of our love know how much we are passionate about them and that is exactly the picture that God is showing us in the expressions of the Shunamite.

Who is he or she whom your soul loves? Who is the agape of your life? Much as our text speaks of the tender devotion that God means to be shared between husbands and wives, we also see the love that God wants His people to share with Jesus Christ. In fact, by all ratings, Jesus Christ should be the number one in the list of people whom our souls love.

He deserves our love because He first loved us. His love for us is so boundless, amazing, pure and sacrificial that He offers us nothing but the best. He shed His blood for us; He gave us His Holy Spirit; He made us partakers of His divine nature; He released His mindset for our use; He made us joint-heirs of all His inheritance in the Father. He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquity and the chastisement of our peace was upon Him and by His stripes we were healed. He delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of God. He canceled our names in the book of death and wrote them in the book of life and made us citizens of God. What an expression of love!

This Valentine Day, may none but Jesus receive the highest expression of our love. Let us so demonstrate our love for Jesus today that everyone around us will have not a doubt as to whom our soul loves.
