As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) prepares to host its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, the Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka has a new appearance.Massive decorations can be seen throughout the square, and party members have begun to arrive from all over the state.
Prof.Obiora Okonkwo, the director general of the Atiku/Okowa campaign organization, promised a big mobilization of party members to the event in a media interview on Wednesday.
Atiku will move to the governor's lodge where he will hold a brief meeting with the state governor, who has been referred to as his long-time political ally. Atiku is expected to arrive in the state at any moment.
Before heading to Ekwueme Square for the rally, Atiku will also meet with traditional chiefs, town union officials, and market leaders in a separate meeting.
